Adon Davie Doesn’t Disappoint At Donington Park

Adon Davie’s impressive adaptation to Supersport racing continued in the latest round of the British championship at Donington Park this past weekend.

The JDF Racing rider put the disappointment of Oulton Park behind him and looked good from the very first practice session aboard his Ducati V2 machine,

Narrowly missing a place in Q2, Davie was optimistic given his Q1 pace and when the lights went out for Saturday’s sprint race instantly moved forward. Crossing the line fourth, a mere two seconds from the win in the Supersport Cup the progress made since the opening round was clear to see.

Sunday’s feature race was longer in terms of laps and after another impressive start Adon was soon battling for podium honours until a technical issue forced his retirement on lap seven.

Despite the DNF Davie sits a more than respectable sixth in the championship standings ahead of the next round at his home circuit of Knockhill in Scotland.

“P4 in the cup and P16 overall in race one was encouraging, and a big confidence boost after Oulton. It would have been nice to make the cup podium and to score my first British Supersport point overall but all things considered I was quite pleased. Although we didn’t finish race two it was still positive. The plan was to make a good start and get away with the pack which happened. I was running P2 in the cup after the first couple of laps. It was quite a long race, eighteen laps, but I knew my pace at the end would be strong, so I was trying to just tick the laps off. Unfortunately, a small mechanical failure ended our race on lap seven. We have made massive progress at this round and overall, I am happy. I cannot wait for the next round at Knockhill – my home race. See you there!”
