Another double podium for Adon as he closes in on top three in overall standings

Adon Davie was back on track and back on the podium this past weekend in the latest round of the 2023 British Supersport Championship which was held at the UK’s fastest circuit, Thruxton in Hampshire.

After a solid start to the weekend that saw Adon steadily improving throughout free practice, the #38 put his JDF Racing Ducati twenty sixth on the grid – well inside the top three in the Supersport Cup – ahead of the weekend’s two races.

Davie improved several positions during Saturday’s twelve lap sprint race, lapping consistently eventually crossing the line in second position in the Supersport Cup after a spirited opening race.

Sunday’s race – the feature race – was contested over eighteen laps and once again saw Adon charge through the field. A series of fast laps put him in contention for the ‘cup’ win and had it not been for a yellow flag following a crash for another rider in the closing stages it may well have been the top step of the podium. Taking the flag second for the second successive day, a mere 1.265s from the win.

The weekend’s results consolidate Adon’s position of sixth overall in the Supersport Cup and keep him well in contention for a top three overall.

Adon Davie:

“We got caught out in qualifying by the weather. The track was fully wet in Q1, and we were on wets. Between the Q1 and Q2 sessions it started to dry and unfortunately, we didn’t have enough wheels to change to an intermediate rear which meant we lost positions. The first lap of race one cost me a lot of time, I was on the wrong side at turn one and then had to fight my way back into contention. I got back to second in the cup and was in the top fifteen overall too which meant double points. We made some changes ahead of warm up and I was confident ahead of the longer race on Sunday afternoon. I made a much better start and kept out of trouble and then we had a safety car at the end of lap one. Once we started to race again, after the car pulled off, I was able to pass several people and although we finished P2 in the cup again we were a lot closer to the leader and finished thirteenth overall. I was over a second per lap faster thanks to a gearing change and set-up advice from the Moto Rapido team and I am really happy with the progress that we have made. I want to thank the whole JDF Racing team and everyone who is supporting me.”
