Another Supersport Podium For Adon Davie At Brands Hatch

The latest round of the British Supersport championship at Brands Hatch served up two vastly different races in terms of weather for Adon Davie, who was back in action after a double win in the Supersport Cup at his home round in Scotland.

Returning to the circuit that saw him dominate in the Ducati Tri-Options cup twelve months ago, optimism and expectation was high for the #38 JDF Racing rider, who qualified third despite limited running on Friday due to a technical issue with his Ducati V2 Panigale.

A wet race on Saturday afternoon presented its own challenges but Adon used his head throughout to cross the line inside the top fifteen overall (in terms of the Supersport competitors), notching up another podium with P2 after the ten-lap sprint.

Brands Hatch was fully dry on Sunday and after a solid start Adon was running strongly and in contention for the race win until a series of false neutrals saw him take to the grass and with nowhere to go, he had to lay the bike down. Thankfully, he walked away uninjured.

Adon’s fourth podium of the season keeps him inside the top six of the British Supersport Cup ahead of the next round at the ultra-fast Thruxton in a couple of weeks.

Adon Davie:

“It was a difficult start to the weekend after a mechanical failure meant I only got four laps in FP1, but we bounced back with a solid FP2, although it did limit our set up time. I qualified third in the cup before the rain came down and with the rain continuing it was clear it was going to be a wet race one on Saturday afternoon. I finished second in the cup and took some overall points too which was pleasing as in those conditions it would have been oh so easy to throw it all away. Race two was dry and I was running second and closing in on the leader when I hit three false neutrals in the space of two laps. Unfortunately, the last false neutral sent me into the gravel and that ended my race. I could have potentially won race two, but I walked away unhurt, which is the main thing, and with a podium. I am looking forward to another strong weekend at Thruxton in a couple of weeks.”
