Adon Davie ends British Supersport campaign as he started it… on the podium
Adon Davie’s 2023 British Supersport season ended last weekend at the BSB season finale at the Brands Hatch in Kent with the talented Scottish rider sealing fourth overall in the inaugural British Supersport Cup thanks to a hard-fought podium in Sunday’s final race.
Lining up fifth on the grid in the cup after a challenging qualifying session, Adon worked his way through the field on Saturday afternoon to secure P4. Further progress on the final day of the season saw the #38 JDF Racing Ducati V2 mounted rider cross the line third, taking another podium finish!
Starting and ending his maiden Supersport season on the podium means an impressive fourth overall in the final championship standings for Adon who now turns his attention to 2024. Full details of his plans will be announced in due course.
Adon Davie:
“I had a spill in qualifying which put us on the backfoot but at least we had a time on the board. It was a bit of a stressful rebuild as my dad was on crutches, but it was all hands-on deck and we made it out for race one. The track was half wet, half dry and we were limited in what to choose because of the number of wheels we had available. I made a good start and on the opening laps we had good pace but as the race went on the track dried and the wet tyres, we had opted for proved to be the wrong decision. Race two on Sunday was a bit of a disaster. I made a good start and was running comfortably in second, chasing the leader of the cup. I had a huge moment at about half race distance, and we aren’t exactly sure what happened but when I landed back in the seat after almost high siding the steering damper bracket was broken, and the bars were locked straight. From then on, I just kept losing positions. It was a bit of a frustrating way to end what has been an otherwise positive year. We made a lot of progress and have had some great results. I want to thank all involved with my racing season and am looking forward to announcing my plans for 2024 shortly.”
